(Imagine) I am a selfish company

Imagine you are an object concept, more specifically, a company.

And not any company, but ballistically, the most selfish one. And you do the most selfish thing you possibly can. That is, self-survival, for as long as possible.

The fool does so by grabbing everything one can find, cheating anyone one can deceive. The smarter fool does better by sweetening the deal, but nonetheless, still a fool. [business lingo: It’s all about numbers]

Sooner or later, the selfish intention will be discovered. The more you want to grab, you grab nothing, as no one lets you. The more you want to cheat, you deceive no one, as no one believes you. Self-destruction activated, mission failed! [consumer lingo: Rip off]

The smart way is to be selfless and sustainable. [business lingo: Create value while being profitable]

When you are selfless, you unarmed people, and are welcomed and trusted. [consumer lingo: Buy!]

When you ensure sustainability, you are promising people that you are with them for the long run. [consumer lingo: Guarantee!]

You will prioritize creating value over profit. And customers begging to buy from you. Can you think of some companies that actually did that?

You are generous to the customer. What you give is always beyond their expectation. [business lingo: Great value]

Someone might ask what about then just giving away everything for free? Yes if it is sustainable. Unfortunately free is never sustainable as you will eventually run out. [consumer lingo: Stupid!]

So does it have to be always cheap? This really depends. Value does not equal cheap. A lot of time we choose to buy something more expensive, knowingly they make much more profit because we believe in the value it creates for us. [consumer lingo: high-end] [business lingo: high R&D]

You are generous to your partners, such as employees, suppliers, and shareholders. Again, you always exceed their expectation. And remember, the expectation is more than monetary! [business lingo: Best company to work for]

You will be accountable and responsible, financially and socially. You are not going do to reckless stuff, that excites for a moment yet destructs the future. Did some great companies do it and lead to downfall? [think Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)]

And because you are accountable and responsible, you know the difference between generosity and irresponsibility. [business lingo: business case]

You will act with integrity so people know they can trust and have faith in you. [consumer lingo: good]

So humble that you are always on your toes, learning, upgrading, and leaving no stone unturned. And that’s why you will be better, more competitive than others in many aspects! And still, be humble. [business lingo: fearsome]

Your humility makes people feel your willingness and sincerity. [consumer lingo: like the girl/ boy next door]

This is strange. Selflessness could be so good to you!

[new lingo: The loving company that everyone loves]

Now you can sell fish or start to imagine you are a shellfish… [business lingo: fishmonger]
